Erie, PA -- The Erie Zoo confirms the loss of accreditation by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. While saddened by the news, the zoo team chooses to look at this as a learning opportunity, keeping their focus on providing excellent animal care and conservation education, while working on sustainable growth and advancement. The earliest the zoo can apply for reaccreditation is September of 2022.
The Gift Shop will be closing at 2pm on October 31st so that our staff can enjoy a treat of their own this Halloween! Thank you for your understanding! Operations will resume as normal on November 1st.
Memberships for the 2022 season on sale now! Buy your membership this fall and it will be valid October 1, 2021 through May 1, 2023! Just in time for ZooBOO!

Orangutans are endangered and there are less than 100,000 Bornean, about 13,000 Sumatran, and no more than 800 Tapanuli left in the wild. Their biggest threat is NON-sustainable palm oil farming. This could cause the extinction of orangutans in the wild in the very near future without your help.

Starting May 31st (Memorial Day) timed ticket reservations will no longer be required to visit the zoo. This is in compliance with CDC and PA State recommendations. Entry to the zoo will resume as normal this day. Your Erie Zoo is open daily 10am-5pm.
