Your Erie Zoo is Re-Opening!

The wait is over! We are ready to welcome you back to your Erie Zoo!
We will re-open our gates on this Friday, June 26th! From June 26th through July 2nd will be for Erie Zoo members only. Starting Friday, July 3rd we will re-open to everyone!
ALL tickets MUST be reserved in advance online.

Due to the current uncertainty and Erie Zoo closure caused by the Covid-19 virus, we have made the decision to temporarily postpone GalapaZOOza 2020 - The Roaring 20's. Please see more below.
Statement Addressing Orangutan Incident

We appreciate all the thoughts and concerns regarding the incident at the zoo last evening. As of right now, we are respecting the privacy of our staff. We can assure you that “Dasa” the orangutan was contained the entire time and was never out of her exhibit. Additionally, the keeper was at no time ever inside the exhibit with the orangutan. There will be no actions taken against “Dasa” the orangutan, and we hope for full recovery of our keeper. The situation is being fully investigated.
